Been a long time

Well it's been ages since I decided to make a blog post.  And mostly this is just to wish everyone well and hoping yall made it thru the past crazy year.
I don't think anyone could have predicted the surreal year of 2020.
But I do know that many of my clients found it a year to reflect and make change.
Some necessary for survival but also a chance to branch out into something new.
Perhaps something you always thought about but were hesitant to try, hesitant to give up the security of what you had.
With the safety net pulled away from so many, it gave courage to try new things.
Perhaps it was desperation, I prefer to think of it as courage.
For others it was just finding a way to deal with the boredom of being less social.
Regardless, if you found a new career, started exercising, dieting. learned a new language, baking, art, I do truly hope you found some way to make the best of a rather unusual year.
And I hope you take whatever new skill you may have acquired and allow it to continue to flourish.
Summer is almost upon us. the flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, things are getting better, hang in there.
Most of all, please be kind to each other.  Help make this crazy world a better place. Lend a hand when you can

Animal Lovers

Every month I try to make a donation to a worthy cause. Since I am such an animal lover its usually to a rescue group who relies on donations.
I myself have 3 cats, one was given to me by a friend who could no longer care for her, the other 2 were ferals that I found when they were just little babies who were quite insistant I adopt them. One day I shall get around to posting pics of my furbabies.

But today I wish to bring to your attention the story of Fiona. She is the cutest little puppy who was found lying in a pile of trash. She was scared, dirty, flea infested, fur matted and blind. Today Fiona can see out of one eye thanks to a wonderful vet and has a happy home.
It is one the most heartwarming stories I have read in a long long time.

So here is the video of Fiona
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnYRhanK3XA

And here is the website of the rescue group who saved Fiona.

And always remember a small donation that you can make to a good cause will come back to you tenfold in good karma.

I love reading my horoscope, but sadly I am not a very good astrologer.
So rather than attempt to print weekly or montly horoscopes here, I shall instead provide you with a link to what I consider very accurate horoscopes from very good astrologers.

Laughter - It's Good for the Soul

I love the website Damn You Auto Correct
If you are having a tough day and need a laugh, this site is a sure way to get the giggles and lift your spirit.
And if you are already in a good mood, then you are bound to be rolling in hysterics with tears steaming down your face.
Definite some adult content so probably not a good site for the prudish.

All I can say is.......I am so glad my phone doesnt have auto correct. :)
Enjoy !!!!

Understanding Psychic Predictions

1/20/2012

So many clients come to me wanting predictions for their future that I have decided to write about this in my blog in hopes of giving people a better understanding of how this works.

As I am fond of saying, very little is set in stone, therefore when getting any type of prediction in a reading clients need to understand the prediction is based on their present path. By changing the present path, one can change the outcome or prediction.

So, let say in your reading I see your present path is leading you to getting fired from your job.
That doesnt mean you will get fired. It means that if you dont change your present behavior at work, you will soon find yourself looking for a new job.

Or a client wishes to know if they will get back together with their ex. I tell them in 3/4 months there is a window of opportunity for that to happen when you accidently run into each other. But in the meantime, you must let things alone and not contact them.
Instead the client calls, text or emails the ex everyday to the point where the ex never wants to speak to them again.
The prediction of getting back in 3/4 months has now gone by the wayside due to the present days action of contact.

This is why I hate giving predictions and I always state that my readings are not about predictions but looking at what is happening in your life today and the path you need to follow today and  tomorrow to obtain the outcome you desire.

Yes, I can tell you when you are going to meet someone new but I might also add to that if you sit at home everynight they are not going to come knock on your door.
I may not be able to tell you exactly where you will meet this person, but I can give you some ideas of likely places.
Its up to you to make the time and have the desire to get out there.

So remember psychic readings are for empowerment, getting insight so you can take control and make wise choices.

Well that time is upon us once again.
Twelfth Night is the official start of Mardi Gras which occured on Jan. 6th.
Fat Tuesday is February 21st, 2012

So on that note I have decided to make my top 10 list of things I love and hate about Mardi Gras.

7  -  Watching tourist make fools of themselves
6  -  St.Anne's parade on Fat Tuesday
5  -  Mardi Gras Balls
4  -  My friends coming to visit
3  -  Seeing Harry Connick Jr. at Orpheus
2  -  Costumes
1  -  The Parades

Top 10 Things I Hate About Mardi Gras
10 - Not being able to move my car for fear of never getting my parking spot back.
9  -  Forget about delivery food, everyone is too busy
8  -  Stocking up on groceries because I cant move my car and my friends who are visiting ate everything.
7 -   Restaurants are too busy and on set menus
6  -  Drunk  tourist  peeing in my alley way and where ever else they feel like it (find the port a pottys people)
5  -  Garbage, garbage and more garbage
4  -  Having to weave thru the crowds to get anywhere
3  -  Noise
2  -  Lack of sleep

And now I shall tell you one of my favorite Mardi Gras stories.
A few years back some of my friends rented a condo in the Quarter with a beautiful balcony overlooking St.Peter Street.
As I was sitting on the balcony sipping my wine, I noticed many people walking by, waving at me, taking my picture, tossing me beads and no, I was not working for them.
WOW,  I thought to myself, I must really be looking HOT today.
It took me awhile to realize, that strung across the length of the balcony was a banner that read:
BEAD WHORE.

How to Find a Good Psychic

12/9/2011

Sadly in this business there are many con artist that prey on those who are in need of answers and compassion.
Beware of anyone who says you have a dark cloud or negativity around you and offers to remove it for large sums of cash.
The only thing they are truly interested in removing is your large sum of cash.

Now, I am not saying that some people dont have negative energy that could use a good cleansing.
But its quite simple to remove that negativity yourself. The burning of a little sage and a bath in sea salt goes a long way.

There are those who perform "cold readings".
They read body language and look for subtle clues in your reactions to things they say.

While you dont want to give the reader too much info up front. You do need to be open and receptive.
If there is one particular aspect you wish the reading to help you deal with, let the reader know this.

Some clients simply are not ready to hear the truth. They are not ready to face that he/she isnt coming back and its time to move on.
And rather than accept the fact, they run from reader to reader until they hear the answer they want.
They are given false hope, they wait around for something to happen that never does, only to later feel like they were taken advantage.
You may not always hear what you hope, what you want.

Psychic Readings should be about empowerment.
Receiving a bit of information, insight and guidance so that you can then proceed on a healthy and realistic path.
Readings can also give you an immediate boost, a feel good high and its that high that causes some to become addicted.
If you find yourself running back to your psychic too often, you need to stop and think about what is causing you to react that way.
If the psychic is allowing you to come back too often, they are not empowering you, they are allowing you to become dependant upon them.

So choose a reader carefully, be open to the information that you receive, and use that information to make informed decisions about your future.
In the end its still up to you to use your own free will to choose what path you will take.
Very little is set in stone and the choices you make today will decide your future.

American Horror Story

12/9/2011

Ok, I admit it, I like American Horror Story.
I'm not sure why, its not like its a great show.
But its fun, kinda silly at times, far from scary.
It reminds me of Twin Peaks, set in a Haunted House while on a bad 60's acid trip.

The Harmon's are idiots, some of the ghost are most amusing, Jessica Lange ROCKS, and then there is her psychic friend, Billie Dean played by Sarah Paulson who just happens to have been on one of my favorite shows, American Gothic. She played Merlee, the ghost. How appropriate.

Each week another little piece of the puzzle is given to the viewing audience.
Who's a ghost, who's not, whats their past, how did they end up in the house.
Its definitely not a show that should be taken seriously.

But if you need an hour of mindless entertainment, its great fun.

Visiting New Orleans - The Local Secrets

12/3/2011

New Orleans is such a amazing, mystical, magical city.
Although I often joke that living here is similar to being in a bad relationship, there is no other place I would rather reside.
Sadly, there is a dark underside to this lovely city and at times she is quite dysfunctional. But no matter how often you leave or try to leave, she beckons you back with her charms, her warmth, the food, the music, the architecture and you just can't help yourself, you must return.
She makes you forget your cares, your worries and most of all, your inhibitions.

So from a local standpoint, please allow me to give you a few insider local secrets on places to stay, things to do, where to eat and how to stay safe.

First on the agenda, where should you stay.
Well you could stay at a hotel in the French Quarter or you could stay at a B&B or Guest House in one of our many neighborhoods.
The advantages to staying at a Guest House or B&B is that you will have the opportunity to truly experience the real New Orleans.
Live like a local and mingle with the locals and we do love to mingle. If we see you on the street looking lost we will offer assistance and guide you in the right direction.
You can stay at one of the many licensed Guest Houses and have your very own apartment. Or stay at a B&B and have the host/hostess catering to your needs and providing you with personal recommendations.
And it's QUIET. So after a night out on Bourbon or Frenchmen Street you will return to your quiet space and get a good nights rest. And believe me, you will need it.
One of the great neighborhoods of New Orleans is the Faubourg Marigny. Located just one block from the FQ it's truly an artsy, bohemian neighborhood with houses dating back to the 18th century.

Recommendations;
Dauphine House B&B - 1830 Dauphine Street - one block from the FQ.
A Creole Cottage Guest House -  1827 Dauphine Street - one block from FQ
Little Eazy Guest House - 1526 Pauger Street - two blocks from FQ
Be sure to click on links to check out their websites for more info on what they offer.
These establishments are licensed with the city and all offer free parking which is like gold in New Orleans.
Should you decide to stay at any Guest Houses or B&B's always inquire if they are licensed.

And if you still prefer a hotel then check out
LeRichelieu Hotel  - 1234 Chartres Street - Great place, excellent staff, swimming pool, cafe/lounge, parking lot.

Ok, so now you have arrived, you are all settled in and ready to try out some New Orleans FOOD !!!!
Oh how we love to eat.
There are Po Boys, Gumbo, Beignets, Oysters, Red Beans & Rice, Etouffees, Jambalaya, there is Creole, Cajun and so much more.
Recommendations;
Coops - 1109 Decatur Street - Its a dive bar with some of the finest and cheapest New Orleans style food.
Adolfo's -  611 Frenchmen Street - A tiny little restaurant that sits atop the Apple Barrel Bar with the most amazing food.
Felix's - 739 Iberville Street - Oysters, Oysters, Oysters !!!!!  Eat them raw but try some char-grilled.
Johnny's Po-Boys - 511 St. Louis Street - Best Po-Boys in towns. When they ask if you want it dressed, just say yes.
GW Fins - 808 Bienville Street - When its time to dress up and enjoy a slightly more expensive taste of Nola, this is it.

Well you now have a great place to stay, your enjoying some great New Orleans food, what to do next.
There are so many strange but true tales that a great way to hear about many of them is take the
Strange True Tour where you can learn some of the more bizaare history of our city. Scandal, intrigue, mayhem and mystery. Learn about Slavery and the Code Noir, Prostitution and Storyville, Oswald/JFK/New Orleans connection.
StrangeTrueTours  - Departs daily at 7pm - 513 Royal Street - Reservations Recommended - 504-258-0760.

Or visit one of our Cemeteries where you can see the final resting place of Marie Laveau, see where Easy Rider was filmed, learn why we have above ground burials and the history of Jazz Funerals.

Stroll along the River, visit the French Market for souvenirs, walk thru Jackson Square where local artist show off their work, and musicians play for tips. Check out the antique shops and art galleries on Royal Street. the vintage shops on Decatur Street , and all around you will see some of the most beautiful French and Spanish architechture that will take you back in time.
And when your feet get tired because New Orleans is a walking city, rest awhile at Cafe Du Monde where you can sip chicory coffee with some beignets as you watch a melting pot of characters pass by.

Take a walk down Bourbon Street but when you are ready for the real music of New Orleans, then its time to hit Frenchmen Street where you can hear some of the finest local musicians.

Its a 24/7 town, some bars never close. Dont rush to finish that drink, just ask for a Geaux Cup (pronounced GO)
You are allowed to walk the streets with a drink providing its in a plastic geaux cup. No glass bottles.

And if anyone wants to bet that they can tell you "where you got dem shoes"
Just  smile and reply, "I got dem on my feet"

Also please remember we do have a slight crime problem so be alert and aware of your surroundings.
Dont talk on your I-phone and not pay attention to what is happening around you because that fancy phone will be snatched from your hands. Ladies, please try not to carry big purses.
Stay from Bourbon St. to the River and dont wander off the beaten path.

We love our city, we hope you do to. Just respect it, dont piss on our streets, yes people really do that when they get drunk.
And quite honestly we got pissed on enough to last a lifetime when the levees broke.

Le Bon Temps Roule !!!!!!!!
